Studying for classes often seems to feel like a chore, even for the classes that interest me the most, and with only two weeks left of this semester, it seems like I'm going to be doing a lot of it. I can only get so much studying done in the presence of pool tables or laptops, but thankfully UNM houses a wonderful study spot right on campus! Yes the beautiful duck pond, I've only recently been able to hang out there to study because of the weather and it makes the task much more enjoyable. I've gone there countless times, whether to study, feed the duck, or just take a rest in between classes. Kids and their parents take a walk around the pond looking at the ducks and turtles, dogs chase the ducks into the water (some dogs even jumping in to swim around); whatever people come here to do they get a chance to relax and enjoy themselves. I can fondly recall my younger days where mon cheri and I fed the ducks together on one snow bound day in a scene worthy of a kmovie. Speaking of distractions, I should be writing a paper right now ugh.

Anyway as this is my first post I must thank Cho for adding me onto his diary group and Darrell for introducing me to this blog group. I will also thank everyone here for making contributions and keeping this diary alive and interesting!

Ugh I won't be getting any essay writing done tonight. So let's talk about kindergarten. The only legendary aspect of my kindergarten experience was the jungle gym submarine. I remember getting sent to the circle of isolation because I didn't want to sing Baby Beluga during class time (a decision I do not regret to this day). That circle punishment is hilariously lame, it was like 5 feet away from the rest of the class yet most of the kids sent to it ended up crying (not me of course).

Well that is all for tonight, more to come and thanks for reading

mindhax

Life's hard. However, there are little things we can do here and there to make life a whole lot easier. A year ago, I was introduced to The Secret, which is a book/movie by Rhonda Byrne that explains "The Law of Attraction." Basically, the general concept is that you attract the things you constantly have on your mind. For instance, if you're thinking negatively all the time, then negative things will always happen to you. On the other hand, if you think optimistically and hold a positive view on your life, then good things will happen to you. You may think that this sounds way too simple or too good to be true. Indeed, it's not that easy. In order to make the Law of Attraction work, you got to focus on the things you want most in life; then while you are concentrating on the things you desire most, this confidence and positive perspective will help you to do what it takes in order to reach your goals or desires. The more you want something, the more you will be able to find ways in attaining it. I am a total believer of this, though I have not perfected this.

I have been searching for other ways of "hacking life" and I found this one website really useful. http://hackyourself.org/ offers advice that has enlightened me and enabled me to prosper in life. It does an excellent job because I have learned to abandon my low self-esteem and become who I want to become. Furthermore, this site has provided me the means of going through life without unnecessary obstacles and burdens. Not that I want to have everything easy in life; life isn't worth it if everything is just handed to you on a silver platter. But seriously, life is already hard as it is though, so who needs things that will slow and put you down in life? You just gotta keep your head up and take control.

I suggest reading or watching The Secret and checking out the hackyourself website. They've helped me out a lot and I think they will provide you with a lot of information that you wish you knew a lot sooner.

What's Good Everybody?

After having been a resident of Riverside for two years, I thought I would've become invulnerable to hot weather. Not really. I'm still a little bitch when it comes to the heat. Even around mid 70s pisses me off.

What pisses me off more is that when it's hot like this, it keeps me from eating my hot Cheetos. Ugh. Don't want to get all sweaty and gross.

Anywho, i'd like to welcome Anthony to the Kindergarten Legends. I'm looking forward to his posts. And Mario Kart Wii is out everybody. Pick up them koopa shells and slam on the accelerator.

I don't think I can ever be a writer

yeaa i don't i can be a writer cause of my super slow typing. which is why i think that this new game i stumbled into is like manna from heaven. Yea so the game is called typeracer which is basically a typing program with competition thrown in for motivation. look at my lame score..
thank god that this game groups you up with people of the same skill as you are. if you look at the bottom of that pic you can see some damn speed demons tearing up their keyboard. Often i wonder how i don't type blisteringly fast like those guys and i think its because of my gamer background. i mean its usually one hand on the keyboard and the other on a mouse. so in games like CS or Quake you either have to learn how to type insanely fast or learn how to duck into a corner and taunt from the safety of a well placed box of insanely durable wood.
well the site is http://play.typeracer.com

sarahposter1, originally uploaded by Dj Squizzum.

All cheesy headlines aside Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a pretty funny movie. I suggest everyone who isn't easily put off by sexual exploits check it out. It's a shame I'm probably not going to write too much on this one since just about anything would be a spoiler but i will say there are a lot of funny moments, puppets, boobies, blood, and some sweet sweet music. As far as trailers on this one there were two that stood out to me. One was about a handful of actors who get stuck in the same jungle from the movie Predator and think they're still filming even though they're in real peril. The other (funnier) trailer was for a movie called The Pineapple Express complete with the now overused"from the guys who brought you Superbad" phrasing. Even though that phrase has been used more than a Britteny Spears joke over the past couple of years, it still holds valid because let's face it Superbad was funny as hell and I'll let you decide where you spend your 10 bucks later this summer.................. Nah you get no choice, check this one out. Oh and the song in the trailer is "Paper Planes" by M.I.A. (Careful on her page, lots of flashing colors)

Trapped in an Elevator

No, this isn't R. Kelly's follow up to "Trapped in the Closet," it's the video of Nicholas White enclosed in an elevator for 41 hours back in 1999. I can't even imagine being stuck in such a confined space for even 1 hour, let alone 40 more. There's a link to the story in the info section, but it's more of an essay about elevators and such rather than this guy's ordeal, so skipping through it is recommended if you just want to know about what you're seeing in the video.

Alright, well I just spent a good part of the night playing this... The World's Hardest Game. As for world's hardest game, I can't say, but is it pretty damn difficult, 'effing A' right it is! After two hours I finished it, and I have the screenshots to prove it!

Getting near the end...
Almost done..!Uhhhh... Look at that!

Now that I beat the game, I need to finish up my essay due by 5PM tomorrow...

Japanophiles why i hate them

Soo lately i been hating on japanophiles. what is a japanophile you say? lets look at the wikipedia entry:

Japanophilia is an interest in, or love of, Japan and all things Japanese. (Its opposite is Japanophobia.) One who has such an interest or love is a Japanophile.[1] Various cultures and peoples have gone through various periods of Japanophilia, for various reasons, throughout history."

Now that isn't sooo bad but its this subculture of white people that just completely embody everything that is seen in anime and manga. hmmm like they take things too far is all i'm saying. Like for example that girl in borders where she completely bagged on my comic cause its not manga or cause the eyes aren't expressive (its mice, they have beady eyes) yeaaa i just don't like people that can't handle other art styles except anime. anyway thats a thing i hate(a lot)[really]

SERIOUSLY FED UP.

My ROP teacher always looks at me like i'm stupid. I'm one of the few who actually want to do work and don't find excuses. Seems like whatever I do it goes unnoticed by her because I don't kiss ass. Recently a friend told me that I don't have to be as smart because of my looks. Fuck that. Today I interviewed a lady for my ROP project. She was really rude, but I ingored it with a smile. Throughout the whole interview I was polite as ever and then she goes, so you're taking nursing at Ventura. I reply, no SDSU.. then she gives me look like "Oooh." I twisted it a little but same difference. Last week I had lunch with a friend and I told him about my college plans, and how I want to help out my family. He starts looking behind me with a nasty face and I ask why, and it was because the lady who served us gave a doubting face while she was cleaning up. Bottom line I hate rude people and I definately hate being doubted.

Being looked at stupid doesn't feel good. People think I'm that girl who uses my looks to get grades. If anything people copy my paper, damn. Fuck judgement. I'm going to go read a dictionary or something.

Arachnophobia

I FREAKIN' HATE SPIDERS! I can't stress that enough. And for the past 3 days, i've been seeing spiders in spontaneous locations around my room (Oh and I saw another one hanging out at the kitchen a while ago. Bitch scared me while I was washing dishes). Anyways, when i'm not feeling wussy, I totally come up with innovative ways of capturing and killing them. One time, I used pepper spray. Well that wasn't really smart but the spider was sure out of it with one spray. One of the recent methods I used was tripod + paper clip. The spider I used this method on was on the ceiling, thus it was difficult to reach. The tripod's adjustability with length extension assisted me in reaching the 8 legged guy. The paper clip, which was folded around one of the feet of the tripod exposing the sharp edge, was used to stab the little guy. Ouch. I got him at ground level and used the finishing move "tsinela smash 2x." I'm sure there's more spiders to come cause I know they love laying a shit load of eggs. But looking at the bright side of things, that will only make way for me to expand my arsenal and think up different extermination methods.

Yeaaah boyyyyeeeeeee.

School > Life

School has been owning my ass like a lifer does to a new inmate in prison. Well, after giving you that horrible image, which I hope none of you imagined because that's pretty nasty, I might as well delve into details. I'm taking four classes this quarter, 19 units. First up is Anthropology 172: Archaeological Theory and Method. Now, I find this class to be very interesting, especially since I'm considering a career in archeology. The class is purely discussion based on the content of the assigned articles and chapters from the textbook, so reading is mandatory. Next on the list is English 20C: Introduction to Alternative Critical Perspectives on Literature and Culture. We have been focusing heavily on visual media within this class, through movies and music videos, and we have already had to read a short novella, The Island of Dr. Moreau. Since the beginning of the quarter, our topic has mainly been on the subject of human and humanoid characters and there significance alone and contrasted to others. The second English class on the list is English 112: History of the English Language. Now, I'll be honest, this class sounds like it is boring, but I actually find it very interesting, especially since the professor is pretty funny and thorough with his explanations. We are learning the origins of the English language of course, but we also have to learn how to speak the older dialects (ye olde english, anyone?) along with phonetic transcriptions (link goes to an example). To help show of what is asked for in this course, I'll paste the requirements for two of our quizzes coming up...

QUIZZES #5 AND #6

As you know, quizzes 5 and 6 will consist of recitations of Old and Middle English. To receive a “C” on these quizzes, you may provide me with a fresh audiotape or a CD of yourself reciting the passages. To receive a “B”, you should be able to read the texts to me in reasonable approximation of OE and ME pronunciation. To receive an “A” on these quizzes, you must memorize the lines and recite them to me with some smoothness and reasonable accuracy in pronunciation. You may do both on the same day or do them on the due dates as listed/

Quiz 5: Record, read or recite the following lines from Beowulf:

Hwæt! We Gardena in geardagum,
þeodcyninga, þrym gefrunon,
hu ða æþelingas ellen fremedon.

Quiz 6: Record, read or recite the following lines from the Canterbury Tales:

Whan that Aprill with his shoures soote
The droghte of March hath perced to the roote,
And bathed every veyne in swich licour
Of which vertu engendred is the flour;
I actually can't wait to do it, haha. To understand anything within this class, reading is absolutely necessary along with the supplementary videos we must watch on our OWN time in the media library. Last, but not least, is Tagalog 10C. Mas mahirap ang quarter ngayon kaysa bagong dalawang quarter. A lot of presentations, a lot of new words and a lot of new conjugations; it's like learning a new language... because it is! Alright, well that was a brief overview of what I've been up to lately. I'm going to try and post more often, but it matters if I actually have time to write instead of read... And now, off to screening for English 20C. Oh yeah, that's another fun part of that class. Last week we watched Edward Scissorhands and later on in the quarter we're watching Akira. Alright, need to get my snacks before the movie starts. Later.

More or less how i'm feeling

My current favorite.

PhotobucketI've only had Mango flavored, but that will only be the start. Ever since pinkberry, mochi has been on the top of my favorite snacks. And I've also had Sushi cravings.. thanks to Cho for guiding my tastes buds to the YUMMY sushi, not that California Roll BS. All asian with the food selections.. to top it off, on my left hand side is a half empty boba. =Y

Anyways, this past weekend I went to Riverside to see UCR's PCN. Pretty intense considering how much thought and hard work was put into it. The little drama throughout the story touched on a lot of important issues teens worry about before going to college. The young lady was pushed into the medical field but didn't really want that. Her dad was a doctor and her mom was a nurse. She had a boyfriend who tried to do everything to push her to stay in California in order to be close to him. In the end, she did what she wanted. One line that stood out is, "The word love in Tagalog means love and expensive." O boy was the Tinikling section was AMAZING. Long, creative, and AMAAAAAAZING.. they even managed to make a filipino flag with the sticks. My eyes have opened up a lot more and i'm even more excited than I was before about moving to San Diego. There really IS soo much more to see, people to meet, experiences to go through. I'm ready. The bad side of my weekend would be how my age always leaves me out of 18+ experiences, the main one being Clubbing. I felt a little left out, but what can I do? Then Saturday 2 parties that I couldn't go to. Well enough of my teenage drama. Just thought I should write something, anything, to contribute.

Damn Alright Dion

Alright so last friday was beer night as most of the peeps here know. Anyway i was trying to figure out what the thing i was wearing was called soo i went to Kat to try to figure out what it was called, Ruby said it was a Lava Lava but Kat said it was a Pareo.

sooo according to wikipedia:
"The pāreu or pareo (see below) is the Tahitian word for wraparound skirt. Originally it was used only to refer to women's skirts, as men wore a loincloth, called a maro. Nowadays the term is applied to any piece of cloth worn wrapped around the body, worn by males or females."

sooo i was wearing it wrong but ahhh well
i thought i looked ok
and really thats all that really matters as long as i'm comfortable in my own skin

anyway on to more things

Alright so a cool artist to mention is David Cousens or DavetheOriginal as he is known in Conceptart.org
I first heard of him way back in '03 or '04 (i'm not sure)
i was surfing the web and stumbled into conceptart.org
and i kinda clicked around
saw a forum called "new media coloring book vol. 2"
and in there artists were putting up their lineart
and were letting people color it
so there i was looking at all these pictures
and i saw david's lineart and immediately fell in love with the style of it
booted up Adobe Photoshop CS (wow old)
and got to coloring his artwork
at first i didn't know how to color so i just copied his style
let me see if i can find it

this is mine
hmmm hopefully he still has it
(10 minutes later)
ok i can't find it
but trust me when i say that picture up there is pretty close to it
anyway hes a really cool artist
hes very helpful when you post something up
like for example he'll tell you that you are improving and he'll link to a site that can help you some more

now its time for some of his artthe bottom two is from his Computer Arts: Top 10 Fun Things to draw
the top is just cause i like skull boy and the luchadore frog

more of his art can be seen at

Strong start, and now it seems everyone is pass out drunk. not a single post in the past few days but hey that's the way it goes, dump all of the coal into the fire and then watch it peter out. In any case Juno is coming out on dvd tomorrow. It's a shame I won't be picking that one up for a while since i like to be cheap with my dvds. Time to get off your asses and turn in those taxes oh wait, time's up.

Last day away from the mainland Natalie and I drove up the east side and stopped at this temple. The beauty of this place was great, would've been that much better without the tourists and the gift shop but the 30 foot Buddha makes up for it. (no picture of Buddha, I don't take pictures inside of religious buildings, esp when i had to take my shoes off to walk through it.) Enjoy, there's bound to be more I'm sure. I'll throw on a link to the rest for your browsing pleasure. Clicky Clicky

The cool things you can do with Mario Paint Composer...

James Jean

Ok so i have this weird love for James Jean's paintings. I noticed his work about a year ago while looking at Fables cover pages. I'm on the late train but hes working with Prada right now for their new line of bags or was it clothes? I'm not sure i was looking at the pictures. Anyway here are some pictures just so i can finally stop putting up youtube links. Also i think i have horrible sentence structure. I think it stems from all the Haiku style sentences i like to write in. Anyway James Jean learn to love him cause i'm sure you seen some of his art somewhere. Oh also James Jean is also doing a Castlevania animated film sooo that should look freaking awesome.

Anyway pics!..
First some Prada
My new desktop background (still from the Prada art)
A page from his sketch book
and the cover to 1001 Nights of Snowfall (great read btw)

Hawaii #1

North shore, originally uploaded by Dj Squizzum.

It's amazing what 45 minutes on a couple of freeways can get you in Hawaii. Here's a pic of the north shore in Oahu before walking down to the shore and getting taken out by one of the (mini) epic waves. Pants crapping force indeed. And it seems like in the past 5 days my space bar was broken. Time to shell out 15 bucks for a new board.

here's a video in support of obama

Dragonball set pics

OK i don't know who thought that looked like Goku but i figure they should be shot. I have such a low expectation for this movie that i'll watch it with the hopes that it'll at least be as campy as either Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. The live action films, yeaa thats saying a lot.

Drunken Master

I'm not much of a fan of Jackie Chan movies, but I believe that he is quite an awesome man. Every stunt of his just amazes me.

Phone Conversation Between Akon & T-Pain

With a special appearance by Snoop Dogg!

Daddy's home

Ok, not really i'm still in the wonderous world of waikiki but I do love to see all of the action that this blog has gotten over the past few days. (beats the hell out of the amount of action I got in kindergarten..) Aside from that sickening side note, there's all kinds of awesome to be had out here on the islands: drinks are always aplenty, ABC shops are more common than Mcdonalds and SBux combined and the beach water is as blue as van gogh but as clear as a dr suess book. Great stuff indeed, I need to take more pictures out here, i've been lazy on that front so far, heading out to the north shore today to see the sights and even more of the beaches. Maybe I'll come back for a post trip report in the morning, it's all about that waking up before 12 in this computer lab dealie. I'm signing out, this place is starting to fill up, see you all back on the mainland in a few days.

Mornings and Timed Races

So is it just me or does every morning you wake up its like a timed race. Seriously if i make my mornings into some kinda game i could probably have more fun waking up. Alright lets say one day you wake up at 10am and it takes you 20 minutes to get ready for a class/work. That right there would be around 140 points. You are probably wondering how i got that number well lets say that the optimal time to wake up is at 8am and you woke up 2 hours late and it took 20 minutes to get ready. That equals out to 120 minutes for 2 hours and 20 minutes for getting ready. This game would be like Golf, the lower your points the better you are doing. There should be prizes though like Breakfast or maybe a cash prize for the person with the least total points in a week. I should probably see if i could make this into a game seems like a keeper.

Anyway what do you guys think? If i were to make this a game what would you like to see in it?

Screech the Merciful

It would've been awful if one of the episodes was about a school shooting in Bayside High. Was Screech the kind of person who would bring a gun to school? Would he have the courage to pull the trigger? For all those times Screech was picked on, humiliated, and betrayed, i'm surprised he didn't do anything. He kind of crossed the line during Lisa's fashion show that one time; talking shit about Zack and how he stole the woman of his dreams amongst the audience in the Max. You know Zack and Lisa deserved that shit (even though Lisa wasn't even his girlfriend). Screech even confronted Zack and ripped his shirt, telling him like it is. Dang, Screech. What if he somehow got a hold of a gun? Now, Screech just seems too harmless to bust a cap in the Zack Attack but really, it's the ones you'd least expect sometimes who'd do these kinds of things. They can be driven to the dark side of anger. Little Anakin, that innocent little boy who lost his home and mother, and one of the finest pod-racers in Tatooine Pod-Racing history, slain more than 100 jedis out of pure hatred. Did you expect that mass killing of the Jedi Academy? No.

Anyways, back to Screech, he was always treated unfairly. It's not right that people get picked on because they are a certain way. People should respect and take into account that some people can be extremely sensitive and have feelings. Do you think Zack was wrong getting with Lisa for that one episode? I don't know, maybe i'm just biased cause I feel more sympathetic to the characters who get mistreated. I feel that Zack could've backed down and asked Screech first. I mean c'mon, he knew Screech had a thing for her ever since he was a baby. It's good Screech calmed down at the end. Perhaps, Screech could've had a gun on him, but chose not to shoot Zack and spare his sorry ass. Kind of like how Jules spared Honey Bunny and Ringo's sorry asses. Screech realized that Zack and Lisa were two stupid bitches who were a waste of his time and that killing one of them would not make a difference because they were dead to him already. But hey, it's alright, Zack was saved by the bell.

Status Report of Kindergarten Legends

Well, I am happy to report that productivity has improved 100% within the past day in contrast with the past 4 years of this site; 120% if you include this post. It is also very exciting to tell all of you that the number of contributers to this blog has also risen by 150%. These are extremely good numbers people, especially when you take into consideration that these digits have been stagnant at 0% since 2005. Let us all keep up the good work, people. Congratulatory pats on the bum for everyone around the room followed up by a thumbs-up, wink accompanied by a smile and a "Great job, partner!" Also, make sure to save one of those for Dion when he comes back.

Second Skin

See now this is a documentary i wanna see, its about a group of gamers that have literally implanted themselves into a game.

I've been invited to share my thoughts! Yesssss. ;D
Haha I'm Alexx, female, and SINGLE. Newly single. *hmp.

One of the things I find myself doing is looking up lyrics or quotes constantly. It has become quite a habit. So if some stranger's myspace headline catches my attention I google it. (I actually purchased a book from that search.) Songs I jam to have all been googled for lyrics. Thaaank yooou google! Haha More to the point lately I've been listening to Motion City Soundtrack and in one song it mentions "Annie Hall". Why I googled that phrase out of the whole song, I do not know. But it seems it was destined. Haha corny.. but yes, I discovered Annie hall is a movie, and the quotes definately caught my attention. It will be the next movie I rent.

"A relationship, I think, is like a shark. You know? It has to constantly move forward or it dies. And I think what we got on our hands is a dead shark."

After the breakup, I've been trying to figure out ways to revive that dead shark, and it seems that it's a goner. Booy do I wish a relationship was like a cat.

"After that it got pretty late, and we both had to go, but it was great seeing Annie again. I... I realized what a terrific person she was, and... and how much fun it was just knowing her; and I... I, I thought of that old joke, y'know, the, this... this guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, "Doc, uh, my brother's crazy; he thinks he's a chicken." And, uh, the doctor says, "Well, why don't you turn him in?" The guy says, "I would, but I need the eggs." Well, I guess that's pretty much now how I feel about relationships; y'know, they're totally irrational, and crazy, and absurd, and... but, uh, I guess we keep goin' through it because, uh, most of us... need the eggs."

The eggs. What exactly are the eggs? My guess is: sex (but of course), the bond of trust, warm comfort, the all night deep talks, the invisble connection, fun, inside jokes, etc. That thing that makes us feel like we belong to this secret world with that person. Really though, anyone can give you those eggs.

In a relationship, where love is involved, I would think the person would be in need of the chicken. That chicken that has just the right amount of elements to produce that unique egg. The egg meant for only you.

I'm bitter about love right now but no doubt this will not be the last time I fall in love, nor will it be the last heartbreak. Another thing is how can I possibly find my chicken if i'm meerly a chick. Young, and that's just it. I'm too young for this.

--P.S. Sorry for the estrogen filled blog.

In Kindergarten, I don't think I was really the type to be considered legendary. My snobby friends would take advantage of me taking my Gameboy games without asking. Some shit took my Balloon Girl game. Eh. And one kid never returned my TMNT-Mouser action figure I let him borrow. He lied to me that it got ran over by a car. BS, I'm pretty sure he was lying and just wanted to keep my toy. Ass.

And shit, I just found out right now that Kindergarten is with a t and not a d. Do I really belong in a blog group called Kindergarten Legends? Or is my purpose here to disillusion myself with an image of myself being that legend of grade K that I never was? We'll see in the years to come. I'm just happy that Cho gave me this honor of becoming this Kindergarten Legend.

11:02 PM: Yes, I'm editing my post right now. I feel that since everyone else is writing a good amount, I should to. FFCC:RoF is a great game, but I need more people to play with here at UC Riverside. But I don't have too much time for it now because school is owning my life. Meh, I'm hungry now so I'm off to cook. So much for adding to this.
